OPENING HOURS:

Monday to Thursday 12-11pm (Food served 12-2:30pm and 6-8:00pm)

Friday 12-11pm (Food served 12-2:30pm and 6-8:30pm)

Saturday: 12-11pm (Food served 12pm - 2:30pm and 6-8:30pm)

Sunday: 12-9pm (Food served 12-4pm) Closed for dinner on Sundays but open for drinks

Bank Holiday Mondays - 12-5pm (Food served 12-3pm)

Born and raised in the Dordogne, South West of France, Head Chef Vincent Fayat first worked in Sussex at Ockenden Manor, Cuckfield, in 2002. With Stephen Crane as Head Chef, he stayed for 14 years, holding a Michelin star for 12 years. He entered the Roux Scholarship twice, going forwards to the regional final, as well as winning Pride of Britain “chef of the year” competition. 

Vincent then moved to The Jolly Sportsman where he forged a strong working relationship with Rob Wilson, the general manager. Having been given the opportunity to run The Sloop they are enthusiastic and excited to bring their passion for local, seasonal food and great wines to this new venture.

We have since acquired The Jolly Sportsman in East Chiltington and are delighted to be expanding our special pub group.

We welcome well behaved quiet dogs into the pub and garden.
